Color Vision Deficiency Lenses

If you have been diagnosed with color vision deficiency - these might be an amazing lens for you!  Chemistrie Color lenses are available in magnetic clips that can be attached to new glasses lenses or as stand alone plano (no prescription) sun glasses to fit any frame.  They are not yet available to purchase with prescription. There are 3 different styles of these lenses.  The indoor lens is a lighter tint.  There are two sun lenses for outdoor wear - moderate and severe.  The lenses come with UV protection and an anti-reflective backside coating.

The term Color blindness should be reserved for a very rare condition where people really do not see any colors, just black and white.  These lenses will not help this condition.

Color Deficiency is the correct term for the much more common condition of having trouble distinguishing between certain colors.  Approximately 5-8% of males and 0.5% of females can be affected.  The most common type of deficiency is difficulty with reds vs green.  Less common is trouble with blue vs yellow.  There is also a spectrum of severity to how affected people are by color vision deficiency.

These new lenses from Chemistrie help separate the wavelengths of light so people with color vision deficiency can more easily see the different colors.

We have sample lenses in our office for you to test out.

We are also able to test your color vision in our office to determine if you have a color vision deficiency and what type it is.  There are numbers in each of the circles below - if you have trouble seeing them, then you may have a color deficiency.
